Best Massage Places In Johor Bahru, Malaysia [Updated June 2018]

Massage is something that I totally couldn’t appreciate when I was “young”. It’s soooo ticklish~~ I ended up enduring my giggles until I burst into laugher, influencing the masseuse too. Then, I started Events & Modelling on a full time basis, with long hours on killer heels – especially those 5″ stilettos during tradeshows, runways, etc. ?

Your back becomes so sore, and your feet become so numb until you can’t feel them anymore. FML seriously. 真的会死人 aka really can die. ?

That’s when I started my massage journey wherever I went. I travelled to Malaysia more frequently starting about a year back, and I started trying out various different massage parlours there too.

Google – like what everyone does nowadays to search for the best massage places in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. From blog reviews to TripAdvisor to random websites, I realised the places were more or less the same. It’s just as if someone went and reviewed the place online, then everyone else just followed and reviewed the same few places over and over again. ?

Don’t get me wrong – Some* of the massage parlours reviews are pretty decent. Some were pretty bad but crazily raved making me doubt those people who wrote the post if they ever had a decent massage in their life.

Most of these places that were highly reviewed had 1 thing in common when I personally tried them – the masseuses skills were not consistent?

So after trying out what the Internet has to offer, I started exploring random massage places and also by asking the locals – such as coffeeshop aunties, workshop/carwash uncles, etc.

In this post, I will talk about my favourite massage places that I go to frequently in Johor Bahru, Malaysia that is really good. This meant places that I had patronised at least 3 times or more with consistently good service and more importantly, good massage skills. I had enough of lousy massage making more tired and sore than ever.

… Worse still, bruises the next day (Simi sai lo. Pay to suffer). ?

[How-to] Making Bone Broth & Vegetable Purée for your Furkid in Singapore

0 No tags Permalink

So you’ve heard that this is the good stuff which your dogs would totally love? Or maybe you’ve heard that Bone Broth is packed with so much nutrients and yum?

Okay, you’ve came to the right place!

A very delightful Lengzai the Husky who loves greens, and a sceptical Yandao the Spitz wondering why the veggie purée smells of meat. 🍖🌿

Some say that our beloved pet dogs are descendants from their wolf ancestors – thus they’re a 100% carnivorous and do not need vegetables in their diet. They also believe that meats alone are sufficient to provide a full range of nutrients that dogs need.

Well, unfortunately, I’m one of those who believe otherwise. I think that a little bit of fiber and nutrients from greens do play a huge part in my furkids’ diets…. and I’m ready to put it to the test!

For me, I started the 2 furry boys on their raw diet with just a pure protein base. This consists of meat, bones, offals and some bits of liver. 🐮🐔🐑🐟

Humans have nacho + salsa dips – but Lengzai has dehydrated duck + veggie dip!

Later on, I realised from trial-and-error (honestly, just a lot of meal adjustments and monitoring smelly poo-outputs) that just proteins alone doesn’t provide the two boys with a balanced diet.

This prompted me to experiment with adding a bit of greens in their daily meals. Oh mine! The results were almost instant – better absorption, much more constant poo and the two furry boys were super energetic through the day. 🌿

Well, I’m not here to advocate the pros and cons of vegetables for dogs. For those who are interested, you can always Google for more information before you decide whether to give your dogs greens!

..I’m here to show you how to make bone broth with veggie puree for your dogs!

Creative X-Fi Sonic Carrier [Worth it or Not?]

Creative X-Fi ® Sonic Carrier™ & Wireless Subwoofer

With a hefty price tag of  S$7999 (or about US$5800) excluding shipping and installation charges, the Creative X-Fi Sonic Carrier probably has had many people being somewhat taken aback, exclaiming “WHAT!?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!”. 😱

Giving the fact that the average market price for an off-the-shelf Home Sound System or a Home Theater System for a single soundbar cost plus sub-woofer (you know, that thingy which makes the “booms“) is roughly around S$2k, the Creative X-Fi Sonic Carrier would no doubt stick out like a sore thumb on the price point. 🔊

That’s like almost 4 times the price of an average locally purchased 4K “smart” TV. In my case, 15 times the price of my Xiaomi Smart TV 4A (55″) which I imported directly from the good ol’ land of China to Singapore. 💁🏻‍♀️📺

No, Singapore is not in China lah.

How to Raw-feed Your Dogs in Singapore

The two boys are now always looking forward to their meals! 🥣

I often receive questions regarding Yandao‘s and Lengzai‘s raw diet whenever I post up photos of their yummy platters.

But, first things first – I’m no expert i this as I’m still learning every day, just like you.

This post is not here to convince you nor educate you on the suitability of introducing raw-diet for your pets. Of course, different dogs have significantly different preferences and requirements for their meals. Also, there are plenty of much better articles out there to address the concerns of raw-feeding.

Majority of the dogs I’ve come across fall in love raw diet from the very first introduction – but not all of them do.

This post is pretty much just MY point of view and how I prepare raw ingredients for my two boys. Please, consult your vet or relevant canine dietary experts if you have any doubts!
